| SUMMARY OF THE SEASON 2009 _ 2010 - Sunday, April 10, 2011
Some will say the summer of 2010 wasn’t exceptional at all … And they’re right when it comes to weather conditions! But when considering the results of the TopTennisTeam-players, one can conclude that the summer of 2010 was an extremely good one!
The most impressive performance in our school was achieved by Alison Van Uytvanck. She started the season with an ITF ranking around 250th and now she’s in the top 50 ITF. Alison won a grade 4 ITF-tournament in Belgium, was in 2 finals of grade 2 (Luxemburg and Prague) and won 3 ITF double tournaments. Alison was the second representative of our school to play at a Grand Slam-tournament for juniors (first was Alexandra Grela at Wimbledon 2008). Alison participated in the juniors tournaments at Roland Garros and Wimbledon. A dream came true.
This experience gave her the confidence to start playing in the professional WTA-circuit, were she reached 2 times semi-finals in 10.000$ ITF tournaments in Belgium. Now she has a professional ranking 825 WTA.
Jonas Merckx started the season with an ITF ranking 320 and is now ITF 150. Jonas reached 2 semi-finals (grade 4 and grade 2), 1 final in grade 4 and won 2 tournaments in double.
Alexandr Kokorev started the season without ranking. Now he is 475 ITF. He was in ¼ final in grade 4 in Belgium, and won this tournament in double. Besides of the ITF circuit, Alexandr won 2 “men’s 1 tournaments” in Belgium.
Morgan Michiels played good at the ETA (-14) circuit, she won a grade 3 tournament in Belgium, and was in the semi-final of another grade 3. Now she ranks 189th in the ETA ranking (-14).
New member of our school Anna Yakovleva from Russia had a good season and reached 57th place in the ETA ranking -14 category |
| New Belgian ranking came out - Thursday, December 03, 2009The new Belgian ranking for the year 2010 announced at the end of October, was a good sign for our school, showing that we move to the right direction. Alison became A national player and 14 th in Belgium, she raised from B-15/2 and has for the first time an ITF junior circuit ranking : 241 ITF.
Jonas became B-15/4 and n°62 of Belgium,he raised from B-15/1 and also starting last year's ITF circuit without ranking, he became ITF 320.
Alexandr became B-15/2, Robin became -15/2 and Ammar became B-15. They both raised for one ranking.
Sanae, despite a good end of the year’s result, stays B-15/1,( she was injured for few month in the middle of the year)
We congratulate all the players.

Alison Van Uytvanck (ITF 191) for the second time participated in the professional women’s circuit and won her first WTA point.
In the ITF 10.000 $ tournament in Equeurdreville (France) she passed qualifications, beating Belgian Anouk Delafortrie (WTA 956)
In the first round of the main draw she beat a French player, Anne-Valerie Evain (WTA 644). In 1/8 final she lost to a Russian player, Daria Gavrilova (ITF 10) with 5/7 0/6.
Alison commented : “What an experience ! I have to admit that expectations on the outcome of my participation in this tournament were modest. Of course I want to win, but I’m realistic and the first objective was to gain some experience in the professional circuit. Now I have to admit : this is to my liking and next year we’ll definitely go for more of this. I was lucky to have my mother with me because ... my French is not as good as my tennis ;-)”

Among them there were 6 players of our TTT-school. Our passage in Sint-Katelijne Waver was remarkable.
4 players started in qualification:
- Sanae Guenfoudi played good, but lost in the first round to Posirca, a strong Rumanian girl, with 5/7 0/6.
- Ammar Salman lost by surprise in the first round in 3 sets to Kevin Benning, a Dutch player.
- Robin D’Hoe won 3 matches, passed qualification and then lost in first round of the main draw to Otte (GER) with 3/6 1/6.

The biggest achievements were made by Jonas Merckx and Alison Van Uytvanck:
Jonas reached the semi-finals in single and double. In single he lost to the future champion, Dutch player Lupescu (ITF 93) with 1/6 2/6.
Alison won the ladies tournament, loosing only one set in the whole tournament: in the final against Belgian Elke Lemmens (ITF 211) 4/6 6/1 6/2
After this tournament Jonas rose to ITF 293, Alison has become ITF 191.
We congratulate the whole team
